Installation
1.
Place the AEM2100 on the bottom of the field
panel enclosure.
2.
Plug the Ethernet patch cable into the RJ45
Ethernet port on the AEM2100.
3.
Connect the other end of the Ethernet patch
cable as follows:
For normal installations, plug into the jack
box inside the field panel. Skip to Step 6.
For S1 Smoke Control plug into the surge
suppressor (Figure 1).
4.
Plug the surge suppressor green patch cable
into the jack box inside the field panel.
5.
Connect the surge suppressor ground wire.
6.
Connect a serial cable to the AEM2100
Channel 1 and Channel 2 serial ports.
7.
Tighten the serial cable screws.
8.
Plug the serial cable RJ-11 connectors into the
following field panel ports (Figure 1):
a. Plug Channel 1 into the RJ-11 or RJ-45
MODEM port.
b. Plug Channel 2 into the RJ-11 MMI port.
NOTE: All RJ-45 MODEM or MMI/MODEM ports
accept both 6-pin RJ-11 and 8-pin RJ-45 plugs.

9.
Plug the AEM2100 power pack into the field
panel service box outlet.
Boot-up takes <10s with IP Address. See Table
2 for an explanation of LED operation.
10. Secure loose wiring with cable ties and store
these instructions in the literature pocket.
The installation is now complete.
