INTRODUZIONE
L'orchidometro è uno strumento utilizzato per fornire una misurazione indica-
tiva del volume dei testicoli. È composto da un filo di dodici sfere numerate
in legno. Le sfere sono ordinate in ordine crescente da 1 a 25 millimetri. La
discrepanza della dimensione dei testicoli con gli altri parametri di maturità
sessuale può essere un'importante indicazione sulla presenza di varie pa-
tologie.
Si consiglia di approfondire anche con altri strumenti eventuali discrepanze
al fine di produrre una corretta diagnosi.

Utilizzare un panno pulito o un fazzoletto di carta leggermente imbevuto di
disinfettante per pulire la superficie dell'orchidometro.
ISTRUZIONI PER L'UTILIZZO DELL'ORCHIDOMETRO
Comparare le sfere dell'orchidometro all'area dei testicoli per rilevare lo sta-
dio di maturità sessuale. Leggere il numero sulla sfera che si avvicina mag-
giormente alla dimensione del testicolo.

INTRODUCTION

An orchidometer is used to measure the volume of the testicles. It consists
of a string of twelve numbered wooden beads of increasing size from 1 to 25
millimetres. Discrepancy of testicular size with other parameters of sexual
maturation may be an important clue to several diseases.
It is recommended that any discrepancies should be investigated also by
other instruments in order to issue a correct diagnosis.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Use a clean cloth or a tissue paper, slightly dampened with disinfectant, to
clean the surface of the orchidometer.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING THE ORCHIDOMETER

In order to measure the stage of sexual development of a patient, the beads
of the orchidometer are compared to the testicle. The volume number on the
bead that best matches the size of a testicle is then read.

INTRODUCTION
L'orchidomètre est un instrument utilisé pour mesurer le volume testiculaire.
Il consiste en une ficelle de douze perles en bois numérotées de taille crois-
sante de 1 à 25 millimètres environ. L'écart entre la dimension des testicules
et les autres paramètres de maturité sexuelle peut être une indication impor-
tante de la présence de plusieurs maladies.
Il est recommandé de poursuivre l'examen de tout écart par d'autres moyens
aussi, afin de produire un diagnostic correct.
