then placed on top of the Cathode Follower so that the Cathode Follower is
recessed in the ring (see Fig. 9). The Microphone Cartridge is screwed off the
2 cc coupler and screwed onto the Cathode Follower whereby the stop collar
is fixed in position. The microphone ring is then screwed onto the Condenser
Microphone Cartridge (check that the packing washer is in the microphone
ring), and the microphone assembly replaced in the microphone holder in the
artificial ear of the Test Box. The 6 cc coupler is then, as a union nut, screwed
onto the artificial ear of the Test Box. It may sometimes be advantageous to
put a little vaseline on the side of the stop collar facing the coupler, to make
the junction airtight.
