Page 2 If the header needs to be returned and is damaged, you will be charged for recoat. JBA uses sealing beads on all its headers. We have found that when installed cor- rectly, the raised bead around each port increases the pressure exerted on the gasket directly adjacent to the port and effectively prevents leaking gaskets.
Page 3 4. Remove the nuts attaching the heat shields to the factory manifolds. Then unbolt and re- move the manifolds. Manifolds will remove from underneath the truck. Remove the Clip Nuts from the exhaust end of the manifolds and install them on the JBA headers. 5. Using a gasket scraper, remove all carbon deposits and high spots from head surface.
