Keep the eyepiece and objectives always mounted on the microscope to avoid dust entering the instrument.

In case the stand or table is really dirty the surface can be cleaned with a non-aggressive cleaning product. All moving parts like the height adjustment or the coaxial course and fine adjustment contain ball bearings that are not dust sensitive.
