    1. Safety Precautions − Read Before Using MIG Reg 2011−07 Protect yourself and others from injury — read and follow these precautions. 2. Symbol Usage DANGER! − Indicates a hazardous situation which, if not avoided, will result in death or serious injury. The possible haz- ards are shown in the adjoining symbols or explained in the text.

    READ INSTRUCTIONS. D Read and follow all labels and the Owner’s Manual carefully before installing, operating, or servicing equip- ment. Read the safety information at the beginning of the manual and in each section. D Use only genuine replacement parts from the manufacturer. D Perform maintenance and service according to the Owner’s Manuals, industry standards, and national, state, and local codes.
  • Page 5 WELDING can cause fire or explosion. Welding on closed containers, such as tanks, drums, or pipes, can cause them to blow up. Sparks can fly off from the welding arc. The flying sparks, hot workpiece, and hot equipment can cause fires and burns. Accidental contact of electrode to metal objects can cause sparks, explosion, overheating, or fire.
  • Page 6 CYLINDERS can explode if damaged. Compressed gas cylinders contain gas under high pres- sure. If damaged, a cylinder can explode. Since gas cylinders are normally part of the welding or cutting process, be sure to treat them carefully. D Protect compressed gas cylinders from excessive heat, mechanical shocks, physical damage, slag, open flames, sparks, and arcs.

    4. Additional Safety Precautions Use regulator only for Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW). Do not use this regulator with gases other than those for which it is in- tended. Contact the gas supplier and consult the MSDS sheet to be sure the compressed gas is compatible with regulator com- ponents.
