Ikelite 4118.1 Quick Start Manual

This sync cord connects the female bulkhead connector on the Ikelite camera
housing to one Inon or Sea&Sea brand strobe. The camera and strobe should
be set for manual exposure as only the trigger signal is transferred through
the sync cord. No TTL exposure automation is offered.
The connector threads are very fine; DO NOT cross thread.
If it is difficult to turn, you are cross threading.
Lubricant
Use only Ikelite brand lubricant with Ikelite o-rings. Other brand lubricants
can cause Ikelite o-rings to swell in size. Use only enough Ikelite lubricant
(supplied) to lightly cover the o-ring. Wipe off any excess with a lint free
cloth. The lubricant will reduce friction, but it is NOT a sealant.
DO NOT use spray lubricant as the propellant ingredient can cause plastic
housings to crack.
Connecting an Inon or Sea & Sea
Strobe
- Identify the strobe and housing ends of the
cord. Turn the strobe OFF and make sure all
components are dry.
- Clean and lightly lubricate each stem o'ring
and check for nicks or cuts.
- Align the insert guide on the cord connector
with the alignment mark on the strobe
connector, and insert it into the strobe
connector.
- Push the connector body into the strobe
connector until it is seated. Align and tighten
the knurled retaining ring.
