Descaling with a citric-acid based descaler
Use a liquid or powder descaler based on citric acid to descale the appliance. Philips has developed
a citric acid-based descaler (HD7012, HD7011, HD7006) for SENSEO
suitable for this appliance. For more information about this descaler, visit our website www.philips.com.
Note: Do not use vinegar or an acetic acid-based descaler, as this could have a negative effect on the
taste of the tea.
1
Put the citric acid-based descaler in the teapot (Fig. 38).
Note: If you use the citric acid-based descaler developed for SENSEO
Note: If you use another type of citric acid-based descaler than the citric acid-based descaler for

of water in the teapot (700ml).

Add lukewarm water to the teapot up to the MAX indication (700ml) (Fig. 9).
3

button and the rooibos button at the same time again.

whole light ring flashes and you hear a bell sound (Fig. 43).
Note: If you do not remove the teapot from the base within 5 minutes after the bell sound, the appliance
switches off automatically.
8
When the descaling program is finished, pour the descaling liquid into the sink. (Fig. 44)
