HANDLING, SERVICING AND MAINTENANCE
PA-32R-300, CHEROKEE LANCE
8.5 PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE
The
holder of a
pilot certificate
issued under
Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) Part 61
may
perform
certain preventive
maintenance as
defined in
the
FARs. This
maintenance may be
performed
only on an aircraft
which the
pilot owns
and operates, and which
is
not used
in
air
carrier
or air
taxilcommercial
operations
service.
All
other aircraft maintenance must be accomplished by a
person
or facility appropriately
certificated
by
the
Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to perform
that work
Anytime maintenance is
accomplished,
an entry must be made
in the
appropriate
aircraft maintenance
records.
The
entry shall
include:
(a)
The date
the work was accomplished.
(b)
Description
of the work.
(c)
Number of
hours
on
the
aircraft.
(d)
The
certificate
number of
pilot performing
the work.
(e)
Signature
of
the individual doing the
work.
