Memory Upgrade Procedure
The basic memory configuration of the Alteon Application Switch 5208 platform
ships with 16 GB memory (two 8 GB RAM DIMM memory modules) installed.
The Alteon 5208 supports an upgrade to 32 GB by installing two additional 8 GB
RAM DIMMs. This procedure details how to install additional DIMMs in the two
empty expansion memory sockets.
Caution:
Radware recommends that only experienced personnel install or remove
hardware components. Installing or removing components incorrectly can
permanently damage the Alteon platform.
To protect the Alteon platform and the memory modules from electrostatic
discharge damage, make sure that you are properly grounded before you
touch these components. Radware recommends that you use the grounding
wrist strap that is included in the upgrade kit. The grounding screw on the
rear of the Alteon platform provides a chassis grounding point.
