To check if the Sena R1 EVO helmet is fully charged, turn it on and press the volume up button and the power button simultaneously for one second. The indicator light will blink in a sequence: a long blue blink, a short blue blink, followed by red blinks, and then another blue blink. If the red light blinks four times between the blue blinks, the helmet is fully charged.

My R1 battery will not charge. I have two of these helmets, with the same problem. Maybe it's because we live in Colorado and they sat idle for several months. On a charger the light starts out red, then turns to blue. When I unplug from the charger the light goes off and the helmet is electrically dead. Online descriptions of how to replace a battery do not describe where the compartment is, and I've pulled back the entire liner. I cannot find any compartment with screws. One online writer said it is glued in. Another said pry open the control module. This appears to be a common problem. Is there no way to simply replace a battery on a $150 helmet?
