Avoiding Accidents, Protective Clothing
• Only allow people to use the machine that have been trained to do so. They
must also have read and understood these operational instructions.
• Never allow persons under 18 to operate this unit.
• Never use the machine when under the influence of alcohol, drugs or
medication, or when you are feeling unwell. Do not allow yourself to be
distracted when using the winch. Do not listen to music when operating the
winch.
• Wear suitable protective clothing when operating the winch, including robust
shoes, slim-fitting clothing, gloves, protective glasses and ear protectors. If
you have long hair, arrange it so that it cannot be pulled into the rotating
workings of the winch. Never wear jewellery at work.
• Keep other people, especially children, away from the machine when it is
being fuelled. Children should never be allowed to come into contact with
fuels.
• Make sure that you work a safe distance from the winch and always wear the
correct, closed, protective shoes with non-slip soles. Never work in
dangerous conditions (e.g., on slippery or sloping surfaces), and make sure
that you are secure enough not to lose your balance.
• Do not allow people who have not been trained in its use or read the
instruction manual operate this machine. Never allow children or young
people operate this machine – the winch can release forces which cannot be
brought under control by minors.
• Never let the motor run whilst not under supervision in order to avoid
unauthorised persons from taking control of the winch.
• Never use the machine if portions of the covering or housing are missing or
defective so as to avoid unprotected contact with moving parts which, when
touched or become loosened, could cause injury.
• Never attempt to modify this machine and never attempt to use the winch for
any purpose other than for which it was intended (e.g., as a kart motor, etc.).
• Never remove the heat protectors from the exhaust unit, and never touch any
part of the motor or the exhaust unit before it has cooled down. Failure to
observe this may lead to serious burns!
• When outdoors, keep the machine away from flammable objects such as dry
grass, hay, wood, etc., while it is still hot.
• Avoid unintended motor ignition by removing the spark plug cap from the
spark plug.
• If parts of the machine are damaged or are missing do not use the machine
and take it to an authorised service agent for inspection.
