ZIPPER
ATTACHING FEET
Figure
29"
Zipper Attaching Feet are designed to allow the needle
to stitch the proper distance from the metal of a slide
fastener.
The needle hole is cut a
little
deeper than
on the
Cording Feet
to
allow
sufficient
space between the metal
and the line of stitching so the fabric will not
catch in
the
slideCpull as
it
is being opened and
closed.
Fasten the desired Zipper Attaching Foot on
the
presser
bar in place of the regular presser foot. Baste the slide
fastene
r
in the garment
then
machine stitch close to the
metal
slide.

MOTOR LUBRICATION AND CURRENT
Two cups (one at either
end
of
the
motor shaft) provide
for motor lubrication.
Unscrew the caps
and
fill with special
motor lubricant or
vaseline
occasionally, depending upon
the
use of
the
machine,
approximately every six
months.
The Kenmore
motor can be used on either direct or alter-
nating
current 110
or
115
volts
up
to
75
cycles.
SPEED CONTROL
The
desired
sewing
speed
is
obtained by pressing
the
knee
lever. Increased
pressure on
the
knee
lever increases
the
speed of
the machine;
removing pressure from
the knee
lever
auto~
atically
stops
the
machine.
