start-up, maintenance and troubleshooting
Checks before start-up
• Ensure that all electrical connections are properly tightened.
• Ensure that the unit is level and well supported.
• Check that water circuit has sufficient water flow and that the pipe
connections comply with the installation diagram. Ensure that
there are no water losses. Verify the correct operation of the
system valves.
• All the panels should be fitted and firmly secured with the
corresponding screws.

Fastening tape
• Finally wrap connections with anti-condensate insulation and
tighten with tape, without exerting great pressure on the insulation.
• Repair and cover any possible cracks in the insulation. Carefully
insulate the pipes close to the valve couplings to prevent conden-
sate from forming on them and possible dripping.
• Repair and cover any possible cracks in the insulation.
• Verify the correct operation of the system valves.
• All the panels should be fitted and firmly secured with the
corresponding screws.
• Make sure that there is enough space for maintenance.
• Check the drain connections.
• Check that power supply agrees with the unit nameplate rating.

Start-up

• Actual start-up should only be done under the supervision of a
qualified refrigeration mechanic.
• Switch the unit ON via the wired remote control.
Relevant instructions are supplied with the control.

Maintenance

ATTENTION:
Before performing any service or maintenance operations, turn
OFF the main power switch.
In order to obtain maximum performance from the unit special
attention should be paid to the following points:
• Electrical connections:
Make sure that all the electrical connections are properly
tightened, and that all the electrical components (contactors,
relays, etc.) are firmly secured to the corresponding rails. Pay
special attention to the condition of the connecting cables
between the control elements and the electrical box, and to that of
the unit power supply cable.
They should not be twisted and there should be no slits or notches
in the insulation. Check the starting and running consumptions are
within the limits shown in the corresponding technical information.
• Water connections:
Ensure that there is no water leakage in the system. If the unit is
expected to be shut down for a prolonged period, empty the water
from the system. This operation is essential if temperatures are
expected to drop below 0°C.
• Lubrication:
Both motor and fans have factory lubricated and sealed bearings,
and need no further lubrication.
• During unit operation all panels should be in place, including the
electrical box access panel.
• If it is necessary to cut the lines of the water circuit, tube cutters
should always be used and never tools which produce burrs.
Checks before start-up,
• Clean or replace the air filter of the indoor unit.

Troubleshooting

Air conditioner will not start:
• Main supply switch is OFF; switch to ON.
• Fuses on main switch are burnt out; replace fuses.
• Selected temperature is higher than the room temperature (or
lower in the heating mode).
• Correctly connect or configure the window contact.
Air conditioner is not supplying sufficient capacity:
• Free air circulation is obstructed on the unit.
• Dirty filters reduce air quantity circulating.
• Doors and/or windows are open.
• Fan speed has been set to 'low'.
• The indoor unit air flow grill is not directed for optimal ventilation.
• Selected temperature is not correct.
• The water flow rate is insufficient
• Air present in the hydraulic circuit
• Thermo-electric valve does not open.
A slight whistling noise is heard when the air conditioner
starts or stops:
• This is water circulating.
Unpleasant smells coming from the unit:
• Unpleasant odours may originate from substances accumulated
on the unit air filter.
Stop unit and clean filters after switching mains supply off.
Restart unit in the ventilation (fan only) mode and open windows
to change room air.
The display does not work (Room Controller).
• check that the mains power supply is present at the unit.
the hy-nec board should operate normally (flashing red LED).
• check that the connections to +12V and to GND are correct, both
on the CRC and on the unit terminal block (see wiring diagrams).
• After disconnecting the power supply, correct the wiring problem
and then power up.
The unit does not work, even though the power supply cables
are connected correctly.
• The Room Controller is damaged; change the Room Controller.
In units fitted with an electrical heater, the heater does not work.
• Check that the jumper on the HY-NEC board is present.
• Connect 0 Ω jumper for versions with low-capacity heaters.
Connect 47 kΩ resistance jumper for versions with high-capacity
heaters.
Restart air conditioner after having corrected the faults.
If the above actions do not correct the unit operation, contact
the authorized Zone Assistance Centre.
