on your lawn and garden equipmentengine.
Allnewutility andlawnandgardenequipment
engines must be designed, built, and
equipped to meet the stringent anti- - smog
standards.

warranttheemissioncontrolsystemonyour
lawnandgardenequipmentenginefor thepe-
riods of time listed below provided therehas
beennoabuse, neglect,or improper mainte-
nanceofyourlawnandgardenequipmenten-
gine.Your emissioncontrol systemincludes
parts such as the carburetor and theignition
system.Whereawarrantableconditionexits,
POULAN/WEEDEATERwillrepair yourlawn
and garden equipment engine at no cost to
you. Expenses covered under warranty in-
cludediagnosis,partsandlabor.MANUFAC-
TURER'SWARRANTYCOVERAGE: Ifany
emissions related part on your engine (as
listed under Emissions Control Warranty
Parts List) is defectiveor adefectinthemate-
rialsorworkmanshipoftheenginecausesthe
failure of such an emission related part, the
partwillberepairedor replacedby
WEED EATER.
OWNER'S WARRANTY
RESPONSIBILITIES: As the lawn and gar-
den equipment engine owner, you are re-
sponsiblefor theperformanceoftherequired
maintenance listed inyour Owner's Manual.

youretainallreceipts coveringmaintenance
on your lawn and garden equipmentengine,
but
POULAN/WEED EATER
warranty solely for the lack ofreceipts or for
your failure to ensure the performance of all
scheduled maintenance. As the lawn and
gardenequipmentengineowner, youshould
be aware
thatPOULAN/WEED
deny youwarranty coverageifyour lawnand
garden equipment engine or a part of it has
failedduetoabuse,neglect,impropermainte-
nance,unapprovedmodifications,or theuse
ofparts not madeor approvedby theoriginal
equipmentmanufacturer. You areresponsi-
ble for presenting your lawn and garden
equipmentenginetoaPOULAN/WEEDEAT-
ER
authorized repair center as soon as a
problem exists. Warranty repairs should be
completed in a reasonable amount of time,
nottoexceed30days. Ifyouhave any ques-
tions regarding your warranty rights andre-
sponsibilities,youshouldcontact your near-
est authorized service center or call

WARRANTY COM-
MENCEMENT DATE: The warranty period
begins onthedatethelawnandgardenequip-
ment engine is purchased. LENGTH OF
COVERAGE: This warrantyshallbefor ape-
riod of two years from the initial date of pur-
chase. WHAT IS COVERED: REPAIR OR
REPLACEMENT OF PARTS. Repair or re-
placement of any warranted part will beper-
formed at no charge to the owner at an ap-
proved
center. If you have any questions regarding
yourwarranty rightsandresponsibilities,you

Anywarrantedpartwhichisnotscheduledfor
replacement as required maintenance, or
whichisscheduledonlyfor regularinspection
to the effect of "repair or replace as neces-
sary" shallbewarrantedfor 2years.Anywar-
ranted part which is scheduled for replace-
ment as required maintenance shall be
warranted for theperiod oftime upto thefirst
scheduled replacement point for that part.
DIAGNOSIS: The owner shall not be
charged for diagnostic labor which leads to
thedeterminationthatawarrantedpart is de-
fective if the diagnostic work is performedat
anapprovedPOULAN/WEED
icing center. CONSEQUENTIAL DAM-
