Snap Disk 10 Fan Assembly
These instructions explain how to replace the fan assemby on the Snap Disk 10.

Shutting Down the Server

Shut down the server before you make any repairs. Improper shutdown may
Caution
lead to loss of data or physical harm.
To start the shutdown process, press the power button on the front of the Snap

Server the expansion array is attached to.
The green power LED remains lit until the shutdown process is complete. Do not
disconnect the AC power cord while the LED remains lit.
After the power LED is off, disconnect the AC power cord from the back of the

Snap Disk 10.
If you need to remove the server from a rack to access to the back panel,

disconnect the cable(s).

  • Page 2 Removing the Top Cover Removing the Top Cover Position the chassis with ample room to the front and rear of the server. To release the cover, turn the screw at the rear of the chassis counterclockwise. The cover is seated tightly on the chassis . Standing in front of the expansion array, press down firmly on the cover with both hands, and push the cover loose with a short, forceful thrust.
  • Page 3 Snap Disk 10 Fan Assembly Replacing the Fan Assembly Remove the old Fan assembly. Grasp the old fan assembly and lift it straight up. Notice the locating pins on the floor of the chassis. Fan assembly locating pins Lower the new fan assembly into place, being careful to align it with the locating pins.
