Installation Procedures:
7 Locate the rectifier on the left side of the frame, beneath the
power source connector (Fig. 5). Remove the upper bolt and
secure the ground lug to the rectifier using the stock bolt as
shown.
8 Locate the throttle position connectors on the right front of
the frame. Pull back the black rubber boot to reveal the grey
connectors (Fig. 6). Disconnect the throttle position
connectors and connect the PIM2 harness connectors (Fig.
7).
9 Remove the upper left engine mount bolts. Replace with the
two supplied M8 x 30mm flange bolts, only threading them
in until they are seen from the engine mount side. Mount the
PIM unit into the supplied aluminum bracket using the
supplied hook-and-loop adhesive. Position the bracket and
PIM unit as shown in Fig 8. Tighten the engine mount bolts
to 32 ft-lb (45 N-m). Secure PIM bracket using supplied 8mm
flange nuts.
10 Check for clearance of harness from any moving parts or
heat sources and secure harness with supplied cable ties.
11 Reinstall fuel tank, air box, left and right side panels, and
seat as per the factory service manual. Check that wiring
is not pinched or kinked.
12 If any problem is found, please carefully follow through
the installation steps again. If problem still persists,
please call Yoshimura technical department at
