forthetypeofgasyouareusing.Check theratingplateon therightsideof the
boiler.
Youmustseethat theboiler is supplied with thecorredtypeol gas,freshair
forcombustion, anda suitable electrical s upply. A lso,theboilermustbecon-
nected toa suitable ventingsystem andanadequate p ipingsystem. F inally, a
thermostat, properly located, is needed forcontroloftheheating system. I fyou
haveanydoubtsasto thevariousrequirements, checkwith localauthorities
andobtainprofessional helpwhereneeded. Take thetime to complete all of
thestepsfor SAFE andPROPER o peration of theheating system.
If thisboileris installed in a buildingunder construction, special c aremustbe
taken to insure a cleancombustion air supply duringtheconstruction process.
Airborne particulates suchasfromdrywalldustandlromfiberglass insulation
canclogtheburnerportsandcauseincomplete c ombustion andsooting.

2. Placecratedboiler at selectedlocation,removecrateby pulling crate
sidesfromtopand bottomboards. C ombustible floors:Whenboileris to
be installedon a combustible floor,a SpecialBasePlatemustbe used-
146-14-031 (2-6 Section) or 146-14-032 (7-9 Section). T hisboilermust
not beinstalledon carpeting.
3. Boileris to be level.Metalshimsmaybe usedunderbaselegsfor final
leveling.
4. Additional c learances for servicemayexceed clearances f or fire protec-
lion. Alwayscomplywith lhe minimumfire prolection clearances s hown
on the boiler.An !8 inch clearance should be maintained on anyside
wherepassage is requiredtoaccess another s ideforcleaning, s ervicing,
inspection or replacement of anypartthat mayneed attention.
Figure 2 shows minimum clearancesto combustibleconstruction.
