- Page 2 Toyota Tacoma Frameless® EC Mirror w/ Compass & HomeLink® Care must be taken when installing this accessory to ensure damage does not occur to the vehicle. The installation of this accessory should follow approved guidelines to ensure a quality installation.
- Page 3 Toyota Tacoma Frameless® EC Mirror w/ Compass & HomeLink® 2. Remove the screw. Disengage the 2 clips and 3 claws. Disconnect the connectors and remove the roof console box assembly. See figure 2. Figure 2 3. Using a T20 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the screw and inner rear view mirror assembly.
- Page 4 Toyota Tacoma Frameless® EC Mirror w/ Compass & HomeLink® 4. Using side cuts, trim the original harness back 87 inches from the end of the spade connectors and ring terminal. Pull/Separate the ground wire from the main power harness approximately 6 inches. See figure 4a and 4b.
- Page 5 Toyota Tacoma Frameless® EC Mirror w/ Compass & HomeLink® 6. Strip the main power harness power wires back 1/4 inch. Make sure to not damage the wire strands. Twist the two stripped ends together. Using the new spade connector provided, connect the black and black/white tracer wires to one connector.
- Page 6 Toyota Tacoma Frameless® EC Mirror w/ Compass & HomeLink® 8. Route the mirror harness to overhead console opening using the precut notches on the front of the headliner. See figure 8. Figure 8 9. Install the wire harness cover over the wire harness.
- Page 7 Toyota Tacoma Frameless® EC Mirror w/ Compass & HomeLink® 10. Connect the mirror harness to the mirror main power harness. Make sure both connectors are fully engaged. Wrap foam tape around conectors. See figure 10. Figure 10 11. Locate roof connector I8. Carefully remove it from the headliner.
- Page 8 Toyota Tacoma Frameless® EC Mirror w/ Compass & HomeLink® 12. Pull the factory tape back. T-Tap the main power harness power wires to Pin 1 light green wire in connector I8. See figure 12a and figure 12b. T-Tap the main power harness ground wire to Pin 2 white/black wire in connector I8.
- Page 9 Toyota Tacoma Frameless® EC Mirror w/ Compass & HomeLink® 13. Secure the harness to the front center of the headliner with one (1) piece of foam tape. See figure 13. Figure 13 14. Connect the connectors. Install the overhead console. Engage the 2 clips and 3 claws.
