10.1.9 Troubleshooting
Problem
You cannot use the
handset/desk phone
during a power
failure.
The headset does
not work.
Noise is frequently
heard.
Two short beeps are
heard during a
conversation.
The charge indicator
flashes red rapidly.
You charged the
batteries for 6
hours, but the beep
tones sound, and
(needs to be
charged) flashes
after a few
telephone calls.

Possible Cause
The handset/desk phone
will not function during a
power failure because the
base unit stops emitting
radio waves.
A headset tone cannot be
heard when receiving an
incoming call when the
headset is attached.
Nearby electrical
appliances are causing
interference, or you are
too far from the base unit.
The radio signal is weak.
The charger is not
connected properly.
The battery charge
contacts may be dirty.
It is time to change the
batteries.
Solution
• Make sure the headset
tone setting is set to "On".

jack is connected properly.

• Place the handset/desk
phone and base unit away
from other electrical
appliances.
• Move closer to the base
unit.
Move closer to the base unit.
• Make sure the battery is
inserted properly.
• Set the handset in the
charger properly.
• Contact your phone
system dealer/service
provider.
Clean the battery charge
contacts without damaging
them and charge once more.
Replace with a new one.
