General problems
A handset can make calls,
but it won't ring.
A handset is not working.
The phone keeps ringing
when I answer on an
extension.
Audio issues
Callers sound
weak or soft.
There's a lot of
noise or static
on the line
Caller ID problems
Caller ID information
does not display.
Caller ID displays briefly
and then clears.
Multi-handset problems
I can't transfer calls.
Two handsets can't talk to a caller.
A handset says Unavailable.
I can't register a new handset.
Voice mail issues
The new message icon doesn't turn on
when I have new messages.
Possible solutions
x Make sure the ringer is turned on.
x Make sure Silent Mode is turned off (see p. 9).
x Charge the battery for 15-20 hours.
x Check the battery connection.
x You may have to change the line mode.
Contact Customer Service for instructions.
Possible solutions
x Move the handset closer to the base or Range Enhancer.
x Keep the handset's battery fully charged.
x Increase the earpiece volume.
x Check for interference from appliances (microwave
ovens, TVs, etc.) or wireless devices (baby monitors, WiFi
equipment, etc.). Move the handset or base away from
the interference source.
x If you use a telecoil hearing aid, turn on T-coil mode).
x If you have any service that uses the phone line, add a
DSL or telephone line filter (see p. 14).
Possible solutions
x Let calls ring twice before answering.
x Make sure your Caller ID service is active.
x You may have to change the line mode.
Contact Customer Service for instructions.
Possible solutions
x Reset the handset (see p. 14).
x See if any handset is in Privacy Mode.
x Move the handset closer to the base.
x See if any handset is in Privacy Mode.
x Reset the handset (see p. 14).
x See if you have 12 registered handsets.

x Adjust the Voice Mail Tone
