4500 Thermostat Integration:
Wiring Notes:
1. Due to the emergency back up for the fan control the 4500 will NOT support Heat Pumps. The
installation instruction states that it will. This is a misprint.
2. It is made to be mounted next to the existing thermostat.
3. Make sure you disconnect power to your HVAC unit before disconnecting power to the
thermostat.
4. While installation of the 4500 is possible without the services of a HVAC contractor, some installers will
prefer to have an HVAC contractor connect the 4500 to the HVAC system and test its operation. This is
recommended if you do not have HVAC experience. In cases where you prefer to do the entire installation,
it is suggested that the HVAC contractor be contacted for information on the type of heating system and the
amount of "span" (i.e. temperature swing) that should be set with the 4286 phone module.
5. For more wiring notes see the installation instructions.
Programming:
1. See Programming location 1-15 in figure 7 for programming details.
2. Setting the dip switches on your 4500 thermostat(s).
