3. DIRECTIONS FOR USE - INSERTING THE BATTERY 1. Slide and remove the battery cover located on the back of the thermometer. 2. Insert the battery (included) under the metal hook on the top and press the battery down until you hear a click. Insert the battery with the “+” side facing up. - Page 9 3. Press and hold the SCAN button until you hear a beeping sound. Remove the probe from ear and the temperature measurement is displayed on the screen. The thermometer will beep two more times for final confirmation of the measurement. It is now ready to take another measurement. 4.

How to Straighten the Ear Canal? • For ages 2 years to adult: Gently pull the outer ear “up and back” to straighten the canal. Fully insert the thermometer gently into the ear. • It is recommended that you measure the temperature 3 times in the same ear. -

6. MEMORY STORAGE When in “ear mode” press ON/MEM to view the stored temperatures. The stored temperatures are indicated with the . Keep pressing ON/MEM to scroll through each stored temperature. The thermometer stores 25 sets of temperatures for ear measurements. 7. -

8. MEASURING THE ROOM TEMPERATURE The room temperature is continuously displayed when the unit has been left idle for more than 1 minute. It is shown on the display screen with the icon. The temperature will be updated every 15 minutes. For a more accurate room temperature reading, the thermometer should be placed on a table and away from direct sunlight or air conditioner flow. -
