    3. DIRECTIONS FOR USE - INSERTING THE BATTERY 1. Slide and remove the battery cover located on the back of the thermometer. 2. Insert the battery (included) under the metal hook on the top and press the battery down until you hear a click. Insert the battery with the “+” side facing up.

    How to Straighten the Ear Canal? • For ages 2 years to adult: Gently pull the outer ear “up and back” to straighten the canal. Fully insert the thermometer gently into the ear. • It is recommended that you measure the temperature 3 times in the same ear.

    8. MEASURING THE ROOM TEMPERATURE The room temperature is continuously displayed when the unit has been left idle for more than 1 minute. It is shown on the display screen with the icon. The temperature will be updated every 15 minutes. For a more accurate room temperature reading, the thermometer should be placed on a table and away from direct sunlight or air conditioner flow.
