MAINTENANCE
7. Set idle speed to 3,700 rpm by turning Idle adjust
screw. Engine rpm should be stable at 3,700 +/- 50
rpm after idle adjust screw adjustment.
8. Turn Lo mixture needle (CCW) to set idle speed at
3,200 rpm. The idle speed range is 3,100 - 3,300 rpm.
Note: Engine speed must be allowed to stabilize a
minimum of 20 seconds after each adjustment of Lo
mixture needle to assure accurate tachometer readings.
9. Turn the Hi mixture needle (CW) in 1/8 turn
increments with the engine at idle. After each
adjustment, accelerate to (WOT), and check rpm. The
final rpm should fall within 12,750 - 12,950 rpm. Stop
engine.
10. Start engine, and verify engine idle speed ranges from
2,800 to 3,600 rpm, and (WOT) engine speed ranges
from 12,000 to 13,000 rpm. Make sure the chain does
not rotate when engine is idling. When final
adjustment is completed, the engine should idle,
accelerate smoothly, and attain WOT per above
specifications.
When starting, idling adjustment speed should be adjusted to prevent the saw chain from moving.
When you experience trouble with the carburetor, contact your dealer.

Air Filter

1. Check before every use.
2. CLOSE choke (
3. Press hand guard FORWARD and LOCK chain brake.
4. Release the cylinder cover latches (C) and remove
cylinder cover (A) and air filter (B).
5. Lightly brush dust off air filter, or clean with
compressed air, or replace the air filter.
6. Install air filter and cylinder cover, engage latches.

Spark Plug

• Check periodically.
• The standard spark gap is 0.65 mm (0.026 in.).
• Fastening torque: 758.42 to 1034.21 kPa.
1. Remove cylinder cover and remove spark plug.
2. Correct the spark gap if it is wider or narrower than the standard gap.
