5.12 Installing an Ethernet Switch

Installing an Ethernet switch into a cabinet includes installing mounting ears onto the Ethernet
switch, sliding the Ethernet switch into the cabinet, securing it, and checking the installation
result.
Prerequisites
Adjustable guide rails have been assembled.
The following tools have been ready:

Context
To prevent the Ethernet switch from blocking the ground point after it is installed into the cabinet,
you are advised to connect ground cables before installing the Ethernet switch.
Procedure
Step 1 Installing mounting ears for the Ethernet switch.
Step 2 Slide the Ethernet switch along the adjustable guide rails into the cabinet, as shown in step 1 of
Figure
Step 3 Use two screws to secure the Ethernet switch to the cabinet, as shown in step 2 of
5-14.
