1) Cleaning. Unplug this product from the wall outlet before cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners. Use a dry cloth for cleaning. Do not use any type of abrasive pad, scour- ing powder or solvent such as alcohol or benzene. 2) Tube replacement. Vacuum tubes have life in the 5000 hour range. We recommend replac- ing the tubes after 24-36 months, depending on your listening habits. That will ensure that the preamplifier always performs at its best and tube failure will not overstress other parts of the unit. 3) Biasing the amplifier. Biasing of the Premise Evolution is not required. SERVICE 1) Replacement Parts. When replacement parts are required, be sure that the service techni- cian uses replacement parts specified by the manufacturer or parts with the same character- istics as the original part. Unauthorized substitutions may result in fire, electric shock or other hazards. 2) Tube replacement. Should it become necessary to replace the vacuum tubes, remove the AC power plug from the wall and allow thirty minutes (30 min) for the high voltage capacitors to discharge.
Your Premise Evolution Integrated Amplifier was designed to provide an excellent value based on its high performance, which is a result of carefully designed circuit and optimized com- ponent selection. The design utilizes minimum number of active parts and top quality passive elements. The Premise Evolution carved a place of its own within Trafomatic Audio’s Evolution product lineup. The design is based on Tungsol EL84 power tubes. Four tubes in each channel are configured to operate in push-pull and biased to operate in pure Class A. The power output of 25W per channel is adequate to drive even the most demanding speakers.
