  • Page 5 2) Tube replacement. Vacuum tubes have life in the 5000 hour range. We recommend replac- ing the tubes after 24-36 months, depending on your listening habits. That will ensure that the preamplifier always performs at its best and tube failure will not overstress other parts of the unit. 3) Biasing the amplifier. Biasing of the Primavera is not required. SERVICE 1) Replacement Parts. When replacement parts are required, be sure that the service techni- cian uses replacement parts specified by the manufacturer or parts with the same character- istics as the original part. Unauthorized substitutions may result in fire, electric shock or other hazards.

    GETTING STARTED - ABOUT YOUR HEADPHONE AMPLIFIER Your Primavera Headphone Amplifier was designed to provide a high value based on its high performance, which is a result of a carefully designed circuit and optimized component selec- tion. The design utilizes minimum number of active parts and top quality passive elements. The Primavera’s impressive output power of 9W into 50 Ohms makes it capable of driving the most demanding loads and its sound quality and striking design set it as an icon of a modern high-end audio electronics.

    Connect your headphones by using connectors on the front of the unit. Make sure that volume control is set to minimum position. Turn on the Primavera by using power switch located on the left side of the unit. Slowly increase volume, to make sure there are no unusual noises coming out of the head- phones.

    It is possible to use different impedance setting, as that will result in slight changes in the sound. While high impedance headphones can be used with the low impedance settings; for example, 300 ohms headphones can be used with Primavera set to 50 ohms, however, it is not recommended that low impedance headphones are connected to the high impedance setting -...

    Balanced inputs (Neutrik XLR connectors) Ground lift switch (LIFT GND): in some configurations, grounding of the system can config- ure so called “ground loops”. In certain situation, this causes increased hum in the system. Ground lift switch is used to break the “ground loop” while maintaining safety afforded by proper system grounding.
