You can do this by touching the metal part of the chassis periodically. Remove the chassis cover by removing the 3 screws on each side of the RTV5000 and 4 from the back as in the pictures below.

The drive is located toward the front of the unit and is secured in place by a bracket. You will need to remove this bracket assembly before you can remove the drive. To get access to 2 of the mounting screws, you will first have to unplug the drive power and data connectors as shown below.

Carefully lift and slide the bracket assembly to the right until it clears the wires. You should now have the following. You are now ready to swap drives, as shown below. Remove the drive from the drive bracket assembly by removing the 4 screws that hold the drive to the bracket.

Replace the hard drive with the new hard drive and reinstall the screws. Carefully slide the drive assembly back into position and reinstall the washers and screws that hold the bracket to the chassis Reconnect the power and IDE cables.

IP Address. It will power down again. Turn the unit back on and you should see the Welcome ReplayTV screen on your TV. Run ReplayTV setup to update Channel and Connection Options as well as the Remo te Control Codes, if necessary.
