OPTICAL SMOKE DETECTOR WITH
WIRELESS COMMUNICATION

GENERAL INFORMATION

Congratulations on your purchase of our unique wireless smoke
detector with radio communication.
This smoke detector has been designed to detect and give warning
of smoke particles arising from the incomplete combustion that takes
place at the start of a fire.
If a CAPiDi smoke detector detects smoke, all paired devices will
emit an alarm, providing they are correctly installed and regularly
maintained.
It is therefore important to read this manual carefully.
POSITIONING OF SMOKE DETECTOR
• For maximum protection, a smoke detector should be installed in
every room, but not in the kitchen, bathroom or garage (fig. B).
• For maximum protection, one smoke detector should be installed
in every bedroom, one near the kitchen and one on each floor, in
the stairwell (applies to multi-storey dwellings), (fig. B).
• For minimal protection, one smoke detector should be installed on
each floor, in the hallway between the bedrooms and the other living
areas. Position it as close to the living areas as possible and make
sure the detector alarm can be clearly heard from the bedrooms.
AVOID THE FOLLOWING POSITIONS
• Smoke detectors should not be installed in the vicinity of ventilation
openings.
• Avoid installing the smoke detector near damp or temporarily damp
areas such as a shower, or in the immediate vicinity of a kitchen,
where water vapour may trigger a false alarm.
• Do not install the smoke detector too close to a wall, corner or roof
ridge (See fig. B for suitable position).
• Avoid installing the smoke detector closer than 1.5 metres away
from a strip light or from electronics that may cause interference.
