a
Assembling the SMB/BNC Connector (for 75-ohm E1 Cables)
The SMB and BNC connectors are used by 75-ohm un-balanced E1 trunk cables.
Depending on the device model, either of the following E1 trunk cables with a BNC male
connector assembled is delivered with the device. If an SMB connector is required based
on the peer connector, you can cut off the existing BNC connector and reassemble a
corresponding SMB connector.
4E1 trunk cable (DB26
connector, applicable to
the U1910&U1930)
This section uses a straight SMB female connector as an example to describe how to
assemble the SMB/BNC connector with the coaxial cable.
Cut off the existing connector and strip
off the jacket of the coaxial cable.

Use a heat gun to blow the heat shrink tube so that
the tube can tightly clad the crimping sleeve.
1E1 trunk cable (DB9
connector, applicable to
the U1911&U1960&U1981)
Lead the heat shrink tube and crimping
sleeve through the coaxial cable. Unfold the
external conductor of the coaxial cable to a
trumpet shap.

Connector
Push the crimping sleeve toward the
connector. Crimp the external conductor
of the coaxial cable tight. Use a crimping
plier to tighten the crimping sleeve and
coaxial cable connector.
Insert the insulation and internal
conductor into the connector plug
of the coaxial cable. The external
conductor of the coaxial cable partly
wraps the external conductor of the
connector.
Use a welding tool to weld
the internal conductor of
the coaxial cable with the
internal conductor of the
coaxial cable connector.
