Note:
Do not use the appliance outdoors, as it could then
also attract and kill insects beneficial to the environ-
ment.
Do not place the appliance in a draught – flying
insects doo not collect there!
2. Switch the appliance on with the On/Off switch 1.
The UV tube glows, the high voltage mesh is now
carrying power.
3. Insects that now make contact with the mesh are
killed.
4. When you no longer wish to use the appliance,
switch it off with the On/Off switch 1.
5. Remove the dead insects by tipping the appliance
and shaking it lightly.
Note:
Should you intend to not use the appliance for an
extended period, over the winter for example, remove
the batteries. If you do not, the batteries could leak
and then cause irreparable damage to the appliance.
In the event of the batteries leaking acids, first put on
a pair of protective gloves. Then clean the battery
compartment and the battery contacts with a dry
cloth.

Cleaning, care and maintenance

Risk of electric shock!
Before cleaning the appliance, ALWAYS remove the
plug from the mains power socket.
Always remove the batteries before cleaning the
appliance!
• After every use, always tip and shake the appliance
a little, so that dead insects can removed from it.
• Should insects be caught up in the mesh, remove
them with a wooden stick or similar.
Important !
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you use a
screwdriver or any other type of metallic object to
clean the mesh. These could irreparably damage
the appliance!
Clean the housing with a lightly moistened cloth. For
stubborn soiling use a mild detergent on the cloth.
Should the UV light tube become defective, obtain
a replacement from a specialist electrical shop or
from our service partner.
Disposal
Do not dispose of the appliance in your
normal domestic waste. This product is
subject to the provisions of European
Directive 2002/96/EC.
Dispose of the appliance through an approved dis-
posal centre or at your community waste facility.
Observe the currently applicable regulations.
In case of doubt, please contact your waste disposal
centre.
Disposal of batteries/accumulators
Used batteries/rechargeable batteries may not be
disposed of in household waste. Every consumer
is statutorily obliged to dispose of batteries at a
collection site of his community/city district or at
a retail store.
The purpose of this obligation is to ensure that batte-
ries are disposed of in a non-polluting manner. Only
dispose of batteries when they are fully discharged.
Dispose of all packaging materials in an
environmentally friendly manner.
