NEO S-Series Library Service Manual
• Verify that the SAS host adapter is installed correctly.
• Verify that the proper device driver is installed for the SAS host adapter.
• If the library is detected by the operating system, but not by the application software,
verify that the backup application is installed correctly.
For instructions verifying proper installation, see the backup application
documentation. Some backup software packages require an additional module to
communicate with the robotics.
• If the library is detected by the operating system, but is listed as an unknown or generic
device, make sure that the proper device driver, if applicable, is installed for the device.
Check your application provider website for the latest drivers and patches.
NOTE: Many backup applications use their own drivers. Before installing a driver, make sure that

CAUTION:
magazines and damage the tape cartridges left in the library and library robotic. To avoid
damaging the libraries, remove the tape cartridges before moving the libraries.
Indications for a stuck tape cartridge are:
• Cartridge cannot be removed via OCP or RMI.
• Robotic movement blocked when pulling a cartridge (see
Acronyms").
• Strange noises of the robotic; no read/write operation possible in the drive.
To remove a stuck tape cartridge:
1. Unlock the magazine (with or without mailslot):
• If the OCP or RMI is working, unlock the magazine as described in

2. If applicable, pull just the mail slot out to access the tape cartridge. Otherwise,
