APPENDIX D. "DAISY-CHAIN" OPERATION

Up to eight 8032's can be "daisy-chained" together using a common RESET and CLOCK
control line. This can be advantageous in situations where either there are not enough control
ports available on the datalogger for the number of multiplexers desired, or to reduce the number
of cables required to implement a large multi-channel system.
SW1 located on the Terminal Block side of the circuit board determines the address of each
multiplexer and the corresponding signal channels. As many as 256 2-conductor channels or 128
four-conductor channels can be accessed per RESET line.

Figure 13 is a schematic representation of the "daisy-chain" configuration with multiplexers
configured for 32-channels. Figure 13 shows three multiplexers sharing the same control ports,
and a single cable is used to interconnect them.
