MANLFT/BOOM LIFT/4X4
• Before operating the Niftylift, ensure that each operator has read and fully
understands the operating manual. Failure to do so may result in death or
serious injury.
• It is very important to wear all manufacturer required fall protection equipment. Customer
assumes all responsibility for the use, care and inspection of personal protective
equipment.
• Always allow the engine to warm up before operating.
• Do not operate the Niftylift while elevated unless on a firm, level surface free
from any possible obstructions or hazards both at ground level and overhead.
1. Ensure all emergency stops are out
2. Turn key switch at ground control station to Basket position, fully up.
3. Ensure function selector hand valve is turned to Basket position, fully up.
4. Ensure main engine ignition switch in the engine compartment is ON.
NOTE: If turned fully right, the 3 position ignition switch will fire the engine. When released, the selector
will return to the center, ON position. Once running the engine can only be turned off from the key switch
locatd in the basket.
5. Enter the basket and, as always, lower the safty bar once inside.
6. Turn the key switch right to II (for engine) or left to I (for electric mtors.) Start engine from basket (if sleected)
by turning ignition knob to the left for a fe w moments (if glow plug is needed), then to the right which will en
gage the starter motor. Once running release the ignition knob.
7. To drive the lift, or operate any of the booms, select either low (tortoise) or high (hare) throttle position then
depress and hold the green power button.
8. Select function and operate hand levers in full accordance with manufactureers operating and safety manual
(included).
9. This model of lift has six control levers in the basket, five full size and one shortened. To operate, push the
green power button and manipulate the proper lever for desired boom/vehicle function.
10. Levers, from left to right.
1. Drive (Forward/reverse) and steer (See Back)
2. Basket angle (Short Lever in reaer of control box)
NOTE: Basket should self-level; however, air may form int he line and affect function. Use the
shortened lever to make small adjustments to the basket angle until air is purged form line.
3. Operates uppder boom telescopic feature. UP to extend DOWN to retract.
4. Operates Lower Boom - UP for up - DOWN for down.
5. Operates Upper Boom - UP for right - DOWN for left.
NOTE: Do not rotate boom while in the stowed (lowered) position as the operator step will
strike the vehicle's tires.
11. When not in use return booms to stowed position. Turn the key switch at ground control to center OFF
position, remove key, and chock wheels.

  • Page 2 6. Maximum speed is only attainable when all booms are fully stowed and the HIGH/LO selector is in the HIGH position. 7. When driving with the booms fully stowed, the Tilt Alarm is bypassed to allow the Niftylift to be driven in areas where the slope exceeds the five-degree working limit. In normal operation the drive is therefore unaffected when driven onto a slope in excess of five-degrees, until the booms are raised, whereupon the drive would be disabled and the lift alarm sounds continuously.
