Receiving
When the PSM is connected to the radio (side connector and
antenna port) the PSM antenna is enabled, the radio's
speaker is muted, and the audio is only heard from the PSM
speaker. Similarly, when a secondary receiver audio
accessory is plugged into the 3.5 mm audio jack, audio to the
PSM is re-routed to the secondary accessory.
A toggle switch, located on top of the PSM, allows you to
adjust the volume from the radio's setting to a lower level or
higher level without having to touch the radio. Press and hold
the toggle switch to the direction of (
volume; press and hold the toggle to the direction of (
ramp down the volume. Volume adjustment is available in 15
steps. This feature is especially useful when the radio is
worn on the belt, and the speaker/microphone is on the lapel
or shoulder, as shown in Figure 1.
