Spindle and Drive System Hurco machines have a cartridge-type spindle. This spindle is precision-balanced, and made of high-grade alloy steel. The spindle shaft (inside the cartridge) is supported by ABEC-7 class angular contact bearings. The bearings are grease packed. The spindle and drive system consists of a spindle, motor with encoder, pulley arrangement, and drive unit.
