- Page 2 ENSTROM F28F/280F SERIES FLOAT INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FLOAT INSTALLAT ION Installation A. Hoist aircraft to relax landing gear assembly. 1. Place stands under landing gear legs (Figure 1). Figure 1. Stands Under Landing Gear B. Remove ground handling wheels. C. Remove ground handling wheel brackets.
- Page 3 ENSTROM F28F/280F SERIES FLOAT INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS 2. Turn bracket toward bottom of landing gear leg. 3. Place small bar (i.e. 7/8”) into wheel axle hole and light tap bar to remove bracket (Figure 3). Figure 3. Bracket Removal D. Remove landing gear drag strut and hardware.
- Page 4 ENSTROM F28F/280F SERIES FLOAT INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Set forward float sleeve onto forward end of the landing gear tube. 1. Pull float slight forward to line up bottom sleeve opening with the top of the landing gear tube. 2. Slide sleeve onto the tube (Figure 5).

Install bolts (facing inboard) through skid tube (Figure 8). 1. Forward skid tube: AN3-30A bolts, quantity 11; AN960-10 washer, quantity 22; and AN365-1032 nut, quantity 11.

Loosen locking screw on the inflate/deflate valve on the top of each float compartment (five valves per float). 2. Inflate float cells to operating pressure (1.0 to 1.5 psi) L. Cinch straps around landing gear (Figure 9).
