- Page 7 AUGER SECUREMENT After inserting the strap into the latching mechanism, tighten the straps by ratcheting the latching WARNING mechanism until the strap is firmly holding the auger in place. When transporting your ice auger you must ALWAYS secure it into place using the provided strap and IMPORTANT latching mechanism.
