Troubleshooting Tips

•The LED on the first Signal Enhancer I installed is not blinking.
Refer to Part One, Step 3 and press and hold for a longer amount of time. Remember, 10 seconds is a pretty long time!
•I have tried several outlets, and the second Signal Enhancer's LED is not blinking.
Move the antenna and retry, moving closer to the first Signal Enhancer.
•The LED on the Signal Enhancer is not turning on at all.
Make sure you are not on a switched outlet.
•My lamp is not being controlled by the Tabletop Controller.
1. Make sure your lamp is plugged into the outlet labeled "Controlled" at the bottom of the Lamp Dimmer.
2. Make sure the lamp switch is in the ON position.
•The LED on the Tabletop Controller is not turning on.
Make sure you are not on a switched outlet.
•The LED on the Tabletop Controller will not flash and enter into setup mode.
Press and hold for a longer amount of time. Remember, 10 seconds is a pretty long time!
•The LED on the Tabletop Controller is still flashing after enrolling a Lamp Dimmer.
You may be in Scene Setup (multilink) mode. Tap the ON button to take it out of this mode.
•Factory Reset Instructions — Lamp Dimmer.
Unplug the Lamp Dimmer for about 10 seconds. While holding down the SET Button on the Lamp Dimmer, plug it in and continue to
hold down the SET Button for 3 seconds. Release the SET Button. After several seconds, the Status LED will illuminate steadily, indicating
that reset is complete.
•Factory Reset Instructions — Tabletop Controller.
Unplug the Tabletop Controller for about 10 seconds. While holding down the BRIGHT button on the Tabletop Controller, plug it in. Release the
BRIGHT button. After several seconds, the Status LED will illuminate steadily, indicating that reset is complete.

Optional If You Own an X10 Device

Linking the Tabletop Controller to an X10 device
1. On the Tabletop Controller, press and hold the ALL ON and
DIM buttons at the same time for 3 seconds, then
release.
The Tabletop Controller will beep, and the Status LED will
begin to blink once per second.
2. Press and release the ON button you want to use.
The Tabletop Controller will beep.
3. Open the Tabletop Controller cover by lifting it from the
top.
Unlinking the Tabletop Controller from an X10 device
1. On the Tabletop Controller, press and hold the ALL ON and
DIM buttons at the same time for 3 seconds, then
release.
The Tabletop Controller will beep and the Status LED will
begin to blink once per second.
Giving your Lamp Dimmer an X10 address.
1. Press and hold the Lamp Dimmer's SET button for 3 sec-
onds, then release.
The Status LED will begin blinking.

4. Press and release the button that represents the X10
house code (i.e. A, B, etc.) of the device you want to link
to.
The Tabletop Controller will beep.
5. Press and release the button that represents the X10 unit
code (i.e. 1, 2, etc.) of the device you want to link to.
The Tabletop Controller will beep twice, and the Status
LED will remain on.
6. Close the cover.
2. Press and hold the OFF button for 3 seconds, then
release.
The Tabletop Controller will beep twice and the Status
LED will remain on.
2. Send the X10 address followed by an "ON" from any X10
Controller within 30 seconds.
The lamp will blink, and the Status LED will remain on.

Your Starter Kit contains:
• 2 Signal Enhancers (SignaLinc TM RF #2442)
• 2 Lamp Dimmers (LampLinc TM V2 #2456D3)
• 1 Tabletop Controller (ControLinc TM V2 #2430)

PART ONE: Installing Two Signal Enhancer Interfaces

S S t t e e p p 1 1 . .
Plug the f f i i r r s s t t Signal Enhancer into a convenient wall outlet (making
sure you are not plugging it into a switched outlet).
Hint: Away from metal is a good choice.
S S t t e e p p 2 2 . .
Point your Signal Enhancer's antenna towards the floor or ceiling.
S S t t e e p p 3 3 . .
On the f f i i r r s s t t Signal Enhancer press and hold the SET button for 10 seconds and release.
The Signal Enhancer's Status LED will b b l l i i n n k k f f a a s s t t ( ( 4 4 t t i i m m e e s s p p e e r r s s e e c c o o n n d d ) ) and will continue to blink until you
complete step 7. If it does not blink, try again and don't let up too soon — 10 seconds is a pretty long time!
S S t t e e p p 4 4 . .
Plug the s s e e c c o o n n d d Signal Enhancer into another outlet.
S S t t e e p p 5 5 . .
Point your Signal Enhancer's antenna towards the floor or ceiling.

Look at the s s e e c c o o n n d d Signal Enhancer's Status LED:
• If it is b b l l i i n n k k i i n n g g f f a a s s t t , go to step 7.
• If it is b b l l i i n n k k i i n n g g s s l l o o w w l l y y ( ( o o n n c c e e e e v v e e r r y y 2 2 s s e e c c o o n n d d s s ) ) o o r r n n o o t t b b l l i i n n k k i i n n g g a a t t a a l l l l , repeat step 4, trying another outlet.
N N o o t t e e : : Y Y o o u u m m a a y y n n e e e e d d t t o o t t r r y y s s e e v v e e r r a a l l o o u u t t l l e e t t s s . . If you are unable to locate a "fast blinking" outlet please call
800-SMARTHOME for assistance. If you have tried 5 outlets, go back and move the first Signal
Enhancer to another outlet.
S S t t e e p p 7 7 . .
Press and release the SET button on the f f i i r r s s t t Signal Enhancer.
The Status LED on both Signal Enhancers will stop blinking and remain steadily on.
