Operation
You have the chance, to operate the Btx-calculator
(ON-UNE), or only screen operation (OFF-UNE). In order
to get a connection to the Btx-terminal (ON-UNE), pro-
ceed as folIows:
a)

Press key @ CE, the modem will automatically dial
the Btx-terminal.
b)
DBT 03 (Btx-modem) manual dial
Lift the telephone-receiver and dial the number of
the Btx-terminal (to be announced by the post-
office). Wait for normal call signal, press key @CE
and wait until the call signal disappears (approx.
e
1 ... 2 seconds) and put back the telephone receiver
in it's place.
After a short while the selecting symbol.« will
appear on the status line in the left lower corner and,
after established connection with the Btx-terminal in
ON-UNE operating, the symbol CE. You will now be
asked to enter your personal code word. Now the Btx-
terminal welcomes you personally and additionally indi-
cates the date, time and the last Btx connection.
Thereafter you can choose the desired page. The link to
the terminal will be interrupted with key
@~again.
The modem will be switched off and the last page
remains on the screen.
Note:
1. In the ON-UNE mode it is not possible to make a con-
nection by telephone, because the line is engaged by
the Btx-decoder.
2. Please note that during Btx-operation the remote con-
trol and the control panel of the television receiver are
partially out of function.

Typing with the keyboard
The Btx-decoder has an alpha-numerical keyboard. The
cursor indicates the position on wh ich you are typing
and is switched on with key
@.
The cursor can be
switched off if this key and key

SHIFT are pressed
simultaneously.

If this key is pressed two seconds long, the screen dis-
play is cancelled.

Capitalletters will be displayed, if during pressing a key

When correcting errors it is necessary to activate the
cursor with one of the keys

insert correct symbol.
Normally typing is performed in the same way as with an
ordinary typewriter.
In ON-UNE mode it is only possible to write in the pre-
determined position and in information service.
ON-LINE mode
With key

it is possible to uncover covered places on
pages on display. Key

enables scrolling up or down
on predetermined pages.

ATTRIBUTES can be temporarily reset.

In order to confirm to the terminal that all required data
has been entered on the existing page, press key

Reeording of single pages
With an audio cassette recorder it is possible to record
Btx-pages in ON-UNE operation. Be sure, that the built-
in noise reduction circuits, such as DNL, Dolby NR, High
COM etc. are switched off.

Connect recorder to socket

2.
Set recording level with the aid of the constant
generated 1300 Hz test signal.
3.
Press record and start key simultaneously.
4.
Press key
