Night Mode
For low-volume playback
(e.g. at night), you can select
»Night Mode« for Dolby Digital
playback that limits the dynamic
range without drastically
reducing sound quality.
** The abbreviation »St« signifies
stereo mode.

Surround or stereo playback of devices with
digital outputs
Multichannel sound card, DVD-player/recorder, sat
receiver, Premiere® receiver, PlayStation®2 & 3,
Xbox 360®* ...
Use the remote control to select "OPT" (for optical
output) or "COAX" (for coaxial output), depending
on the digital output format of the connected de-
vice E.
The corresponding input will appear in the display.
As soon as the device has detected an encoded sur-
round signal, it decodes it and then signals its ability
to decode it by stating the signet and the name –
e.g. AC3 for Dolby Digital.
You can choose to playback Dolby Digital signals in
2.0 stereo using the »Listen Mode« function on the
remote control (q see Page 12).
Stereo playback of devices at the three ana-
logue inputs
2-channel sound cards, Mp3 player, tV set, CD
player, video recorder, etc.
Using the remote control, select one of the three
inputs "AUX" , "VCR" or "PC" – depending on the de-
vice connected E . The display indicates the rele-
vant input, for example "AUX St" ** .
Listen Mode
Here you can select whether and to which extent
the stereo signals are prepared and played back
by integrated "Upmix" functions through all sa-
tellite speakers, including the subwoofer.
These upmix modes can be found by successively
pressing the "Listen Mode" button on the remote
control q (page 12).
The following stages are available:
Dolby Prologic II Music, Dolby Prologic II Movie,
Stereo, DSP Passthru, DSP Hall, DSP Theatre and
DSP Room.
The switch also works in tuner mode, but the
changed Listen Modes are not shown in the dis-
play.
