SPRAY GUN HANDLING
To obtain its optimal result, proper handling is essential.
• The MATCO spray gun should be held perpendicular
to the surface.
• The stroke should start before the trigger is pulled.
Simply release trigger when done. This gives
accurate control of the gun and material.
• The distance between the MATCO spray gun and
surface should be 6 to 10 inches depending on the
material and atomizing pressure.
• For uniform finish, overlap each stroke over the
preceding stroke.
NOTE 1: To reduce overspray and obtain maximum efficiency,
always spray with the lowest possible atomizing air pressure.
NOTE 2: Noise level is 73.6dB(A); Temperature range is
between 5 and 40°C.
NOTE 3: Noise level was measured at 1m behind the tip of
the gun and 1.6m height from the floor.
Note : The MATCO Spray Gun
is capable of doing shapes from
round to ellipse, or anything in between
In normal operation, the wings on
the nozzle are horizontal as illustrated
here. The results in a vertical fan shaped
pattern which gives maximum, even and
uniform material coverage as the
Matco Spray Gun is moving back and
forth parallel to the surface being sprayed.

As spraying width increases, more material must be allowed
to pass through the gun to obtain the uniform coverage on
the increased area.
SIPHON SPRAYING
Set atomization pressure at approximately 50psi for lacquer and 60psi
for enamel.
• Test spray;
• If the Spray is too fine, reduce the air pressure or open
fluid control screw;
• If the spray is too coarse, close the fluid control screw;
• Adjust the pattern width and repeat adjustment
of spray if necessary.
PRESSURE SPRAYING
fter selecting the correct size of fluid orifice, set air pressure for
A
desired flow.
• Open air atomizing pressure and test spray;
• If spray is too fine, reduce air pressure;
• If spray is too coarse, raise air pressure;
• Adjust pattern width and repeat adjustment of
spraying if necessary;
• Keep fluid control screw in open position which will
reduce fluid needle wear.
NOTE: To reduce overspray and obtain maximum efficiency, always
spray with the lowest possible atomizing air pressure.
