Turn the swivelling plate by 180° up to the stop. Lower Stamp 1 is now directly below the upper
stamp and lower stamp 2 is in front of you. Now put the metal backside into lower stamp 2.
Concerning the backside variation with safety pin, put it into the stamp with the pin opening
downwards (put it straightly into it, just like the paper inlay!). Concerning the metal ring backside,
put the ring into it with the edge upwards. No matter which backside variation you want to
produce, just keep in mind: The side which you can see after you have put it into the lower stamp
2, will disappear inside the button later. Or, the other way round, the side which you can not see
after you have put it into it, will be visible at the backside of the ready made button.

Now you can produce your fi rst button:
Pull the operating lever forward as far as it will go (no violence, please). After you have released
the lever, the metal top with the paper inlay and foil is in the upper stamp. ATTENTION: Do not
hold the swivelling plate or the front stamp with the other hand while you pull the lever. The
swivelling plate always has to be free to adjust itself.
