Using the Keyboard Maps
— For some 3270 terminals used as ASCII terminals, a Control Shift is
provided that allows you to press and hold the CTRL key while pressing
other keys when you want to do a series of control functions.
— The keyboard maps indicate which keyboards use the CTRL key as
described here.
Case usually does not matter. When you see ESC a, for example, you can type
A or a. However, If you see an uppercase letter on the keyboard map translation,
you must type the uppercase letter.
Note: In a few instances the lowercase letter must be used.
For ASCII terminals being used as 3270 terminals, the extension mode key (ALT
Erase EOF) is mapped for the following functions:
• The Response Time Monitor (RTM) function
New Extension Mode functions
X.21/X.25 functions
• Connection Menu request
For more information about the functions, see "Keyboard Extension Mode
(Extended Select)" on page 1-6.
Entry Assist functions are not supported from ASCII terminals.
