    The CPU board (PN 106390) provides four load cell input channels, four configurable I/O channels, a selectable multi-protocol communications port (RS-232, 2- or 4-wire RS-485) and an additional port that accepts various Rice Lake option cards (see Table 1-2 on page 3) for simultaneous communications with multiple hosts.

    Immediately after unpacking, visually inspect the iQUBE2 and the parts list to ensure all parts are included and undamaged. If any parts were damaged in shipment, notify Rice Lake Weighing Systems and the shipper immediately. Parts kit contents for 4- and 8-channel models of the iQUBE2.

    iQUBE2 Digital Diagnostic Junction Box Cable Connections All models of the iQUBE2 provide cord grips for cabling into the unit, plus a dedicated cord grip for a ground wire. Up to 12 load cells can be cabled into the iQUBE2 (in large FRP model only); other cord grips allow cabling for serial communications, digital I/O, and AC power.

    Diagnostics may not function properly with load cells having a bridge resistance greater than 700 ohms. IMPORTANT Customers wanting to use load cells with a higher bridge resistance than 700 ohms can consult the Rice Lake Weighing Systems service department for additional options.

Instructions in this section assume that the configuration application is installed on the PC, and that load cell and communications wiring (between multiple iQUBE2 boards, if applicable, and between the iQUBE2 and the PC) is complete.
