umbrella is made of
Aluminum. Aluminum is a
relatively soft material, so
please be careful not to over
tighten your hardware. We
also recommend that you
occasionally check the bolts
on your umbrella to make
sure they are tight as they
may loosen over time.
Tools Needed: Allen Key (Included with hardware)
Supplies Needed: Enough Small Stones (Pebbles) or Sand to fill the inside of the base bottom. A
minimum of 220 lbs is required. This must be purchase from your local hardware store or landscape
supply company.
Please read these instructions thoroughly to familiarize yourself with the process prior to assembly.
1. Open your carton carefully, making sure not to scratch any of the parts. (You have most likely completed this step if
you have these instructions in front of you.)
2. Remove each part from your carton and place it on a soft surface to protect it from being scratched.
3. After ALL the parts have been removed; spread the carton out on the ground to provide a clean surface to work on.
(Or use a large blanket.)
4. Remove all packing material from the parts and hardware.
5. Organize your parts and hardware by type and then check them against the master list on page 2 to make sure you
have received everything.
6. After you have prepared all the parts, proceed to the Assembly Instructions on page 3.

- Page 3 I. ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS Diagram 1 1. PLACE the BASE BOTTOM (C) on your work area. See Diagram 1. Diagram 2 2. FILL the BASE BOTTOM (C) with a HEAVY medium such as SMALL STONES (PEBBLES) or SAND. (This must be purchase from your local hardware store or landscape supply company.) See Diagram 2.
- Page 4 Diagram 5 5. Place ONE UMBRELLA MOUNT BOLT (E-1) thru ONE UMBRELLA MOUNT WASHER (E-2) and THREAD it into the HOLE closest to you in the UMBRELLA MOUNT (B). THREAD it in LOOSELY with the ALLEN KEY (M). Do NOT TIGHTEN yet. See Diagram 5.

- Page 6 II. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS A. To RAISE and OPEN your UMBRELLA; Diagram 12a Diagram 12b 1. GRASP the LIFT HANDLE firmly. 2. DEPRESS the TRIGGER in the LIFT HANDLE with your FINGERS. See close-up in Diagram 12a. 3. While keeping the BUTTON in the LIFT HANDLE DEPRESSED, SLIDE the LIFT HANDLE UP until it reaches the STOP.
- Page 7 C. To TILT your UMBRELLA: Diagram 16a Diagram 16b 1. With the UMBRELLA FULLY OPEN, DEPRESS the BUTTON in the LIFT HANDLE. See Diagram 16. 2. While keeping the BUTTON in the LIFT HANDLE DEPRESSED, SLIDE the LIFT HANDLE DOWN the POLE until you reach your desired position.

Trigger on lift handle is stuck doesn’t depress
To fix a stuck trigger on the lift handle of the Frontgate 140180B umbrella, follow these steps:
1. Ensure the umbrella is fully open.
2. Depress the button in the lift handle and try to slide the handle down the pole.
3. If the handle is stuck, gently raise or lower it slightly to help align the pin with one of the locking holes in the pole.
4. Make sure the button is fully depressed while adjusting to avoid resistance.
