OPERATION

1
First turn down all level controls of the input channels and the effect controls to the left stop position.
2
Use the input selector buttons to switch the channels 1 to 4 to microphone or line level according to the
signal sources connected.
3
Adjust the master control MASTER LEVEL for the overall volume to a level that the subsequent
adjustments can be heard well via the speakers.
4
Adjust the desired volume ratio of the input channels with the LEVEL controls. Turn the controls of the
inputs not used to 0.
Do not direct any microphones to the speakers. This can result in dangerous and
unpleasant acoustic feedback which will generate a loud whistling sound.
5
Adjust the desired sound with the tone controls. By adjusting the tone controls, the high frequencies
(control HIGH) and the low frequencies (control LOW) can be boosted or attenuated. With the controls
in mid-position, the frequency response is not affected.
6
Channels 1 and 2 feature a dynamic processor which can be adjusted with the selector switch
LIMIT/COMP.
• Limiter operation (switch released): The input signal is hardly compressed when it reaches the
maximum input level.
• Compressor operation (switch pressed): In contrast to the limiter, the input signal is not reduced in level
abruptly once the maximum input level has been exceeded, but is returned to the threshold gradually.
7
The selector button SPEECH/MUSIC determines the type of equalization assigned to the master signal
which is available at the speaker outputs. With the button released, the equalization is optimized for
voice amplification, with the button pressed, the low bass range is boosted and the sound is optimized
for music material.
8
Determine the definite level for the master volume of the PA system with the master controls MASTER
LEVEL and MONITOR via the output meter. Usually an optimum level control is obtained if the output
meter shows values in the 0 dB range at average volume. In case of overload the red LED LIMIT lights
up. If the LED lights continuously, turn back the master control accordingly.

Adding an Echo Effect

An echo effect created via the integrated effect processor can be added to the signal of the input channels 1
to 4.
1
With the selector button REVERB, select the channels which are to be fed to the internal effect
processor.
2
With the control ECHO in the effect section, adjust the total volume of the echo effect.
3
The control DELAY allows adjusting the delay time and the number of repeats of the echo effect.
