(1) Pilot lamp indication
The indications of the pilot lamp will be as shown
in Table 3, according to the condition of the charger
or the rechargeable battery.
4. Disconnect the charger's power plug from the AC
outlet on completion of recharging.
5. Hold the charger firmly and pull out the battery.
CAUTION
If the battery has been heated just after operation
(or due to sunlight, etc.), the charger's pilot lamp
will not light up. In such a case, first let the battery
cool, then start charging.
When the pilot lamp frickers quickly (at 0.2-second
intervals), check for and take out any foreign objects
in the charger's battery installation hole. If there are
no foreign objects, it is probable that the battery
or charger is malfunctioning. Take it to your
authorized Service center.
PRIOR TO OPERATION
1. Preparing and checking the work environment
Make sure that the work site meets all the conditions
laid forth in the precautions.
2. Checking the battery
Make sure that the battery is installed firmly. If it
is at all loose it can fall off and cause an accident.
3. Selecting the socket to be matched to the bolt
Be sure to use a socket which is matched to the
bolt to be tightened. Using an improper socket will
result not only in insufficient tightening but also in
damage to the socket or nut.
A worn or deformed hex or square-holed socket will
not give an adequate tightness for fitting to the nut
or anvil, consequently resulting in loss of tightening
torque.
Pay attention to wear of socket hole, and replace
before further wear has developed.
Finally, install the socket prescribed in Item 4. The
section on "Optional Accessories" details the
relationship between bolt sizes and sockets. Sockets
are named according to the distance between
opposite surfaces of the hexagonal hole.
4. Installing a socket
Select the socket to be used.

anvil and insert the anvil into the socket.
Plunger type (Fig. 6)
Align the plunger located in the square part of the
anvil with the hole in the hex. socket. Then push
the plunger, and mount the hex. socket on the anvil.
Check that the plunger is fully engaged in the hole.
When removing the socket, reverse the sequence.
Tighten the two screws to secure the supplied hanger
and the hanger plate. (Fig. 7)
Because there is a possibility of the hanger detaching
from the main unit, securely tighten the screws
without fail as this situation is extremely dangerous.
Setting the Forward/Reverse lever on the switch to
R
causes the impact wrench to turn forward, i.e.
to the right as viewed from the behind the impact
wrench. Setting the Forward/Reverse lever on the
switch to
L
causes the impact wrench to turn
backwards, i.e. to the left as viewed from the behing
the impact wrench. (Fig. 8)
R
and
L
are written on the outer frame.
By pulling the switch trigger, the rotation speed will
infinitely vary from 0 to 1500 revolutions per minute.
When the switch trigger is pulled only slightly, a
beep sound will be heard. This is the sound of the
motor, and it does not indicate any abnormality.
The direction lever can not be switched while the
impact wrench is turning. To switch the lever, stop
the impact wrench, then set the direction lever.
Install on the anvil the correct sized socket for the
nuts and bolts to be tightened, then place the socket
over the nut. Line the impact wrench up straight
with the bolt, then pull the trigger to activate the
impact wrench.
