SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

1.
The closed-loop should be pressurised to 100 kPa only after the geyser's main
volume is pressurised, to prevent damage to the heat exchanger.
2.
Antifreeze or propylene glycol protection is essential, as a single freeze event
can destroy a collector. (Even in warm areas, collector tubes have frozen and
burst during hard winter freezes).
3.
It is necessary to install a pressure reduction valve (not included) if the water
supply pressure exceeds 400 kPa. The pressure control and expansion valve
should be 400 kPa.
4.
If a tempering (mixing) valve (not included) is installed between the hot water
outlet of the geyser and the main hot water supply pipe to the house, the
tempering valve should be regulated to 55˚C.
5.
To ensure safe and effective operation, the system shall be installed, maintained
and repaired strictly in accordance with SANS 10254 and 10106. Failure to do so
