Trouble clearing involves clearing and repairing malfunctions in the system. Trouble clearing may be done to answer a customer complaint or to respond to an office alarm, a trouble report, or an abnormal display.

    3EM13853AD Issue 02, July 2006 MAINTENANCE PHILOSOPHY Maintenance of the system consists of repair and preventive maintenance. Repair covers isolation of faults, troubleshooting to the circuit card level, and subsequent replacement of the faulty circuit card. Circuit card repair is not covered. Preventive maintenance covers periodic routine tasks that are performed to ensure continued proper operation of the system.

The proper TAP is referenced in the IXL. • Clear upstream problems first. This may also clear downstream problems.
